DAVID COMPTON - ASSOCIATE

​David Compton, an energy market data analytics/integrations specialist and subject matter expert, has over 30 years of experience in north American power markets.  David began his career as trading systems analyst, creating connective API tools to RT field data units and analyzing generation trends.  This work in data analytics transitioned him into consulting roles with several power trading clients in CAISO and SPP markets.

As the power landscape began to change in the 2000’s and mid 2010’s with the introduction of major changes to the wholesale electricity markets with processes like CAISO MRTU and SPP Integrated Marketplace (IM), David began to consult with power trading clients and power system vendors.  In his systems/data flow assessments work with clients, David found that most clients were using multiple specialized tools that had difficulty with a smooth data workflow that resulted in too much manual interactions.  These client/vendor/ISO interactions have led to creation of a suite of process evaluation tools and data flow APIs/agents that are vendor agnostic and designed to evolve with ISO wholesale power market changes.
